The Y-Series uses only one compressor, just like the R2-Series to intelligently air-condition up to 13 zones. The Y-Series takes advantage of Mitsubishi Electric's inverter technology to provide the precise amount of cooling or heating to each and every zone. By utilizing T-branches and headers, the Y-Series provides the ultimate in piping design flexibility that is truly simple in application.

At 39" x 33" CITY MULTI Y-Series outdoor unit offers one of the smallest footprints in the industry for a 72,000 Btu/h unit. An added advantage is the top discharge design, which allows outdoor units to be installed side-by-side, regardless of the Y-Series in a single area, saving even more space when multiple units are involved.

Connect up to 13 indoor units with a combined capacity of 36,000 to 108,000 btu/h of indoor units.

Flexible Refrigerant Piping
Like the CITY MULTI R2-Series (simultaneous cool/heat) the Y-Series offers a great deal of flexibility for refrigerant piping. The system may have a total combined length of refrigerant piping up to 984 feet one way. The maximum length from the outdoor unit to the furthest (of the 13) indoor unit is 492 feet or 574 total equivalent length. Vertically, the outdoor unit can be placed up to 164 feet above the lowest indoor unit or 131 feet below the highest indoor unit.

Sea Coast Protection
The PUHY-P72TGMU-A-BS model offers seacoast protection.

  • Internal and external surfaces of the bottom frame, panels, partition plates, supports, and electrical parts box are made of alloyed galvanized sheet metal and have powder coating
  • Steel wires in the fin guard have Polyethylene coating
  • The motor shaft has rust prevention paint coating
  • The motor supports internal and external surfaces and has galvanized and epoxy coating
  • The heat exchanger has two coats of aqueous heat-drying type aminoalkyd resin
  • All printed circuit boards have moisture-proof coatings
  • All screws have zinc-nickel alloy plating and chromate filming

The outdoor unit’s four-digit display speeds up the servicing process considerably. It also allows over 250 items of operation information to be displayed.
